Naomi Harte

Naomi Harte is Professor in Speech Technology in the School of Engineering in Trinity College Dublin, Ireland and is a Co-Principal Investigator at the ADAPT SFI Centre.  She holds a PhD from Queen’s University Belfast.  Since being appointed SFI Lecturer in Digital Media Systems in 2008, Naomi has explored topics in human speech communication.  Her principal areas of focus are audio-visual speech processing, speaker ageing, speech evaluation, and bird song analysis. She is a lead member of the highly successful Sigmedia Research Group, and leads a major Research Strand in Multimodal Interaction across 4 Universities in Ireland for the ADAPT SFI Research Centre.  She has published widely in peer reviewed conferences and journals.  In 2015, she was a visiting professor at ISCI in Berkeley, USA.  She holds technology patents and licences through her collaborations with Google in the USA. She received a Google Faculty Award in 2017. Naomi organised the UK and Ireland Speech Conference in Dublin in 2018, and is part of the Programme Committee for EUSIPCO 2021.
